Tonight / this morning, my family and I had the honor of helping with the wedding of Leanne and David at the Wisner home! It was an absolute blast, from the music to the dancing to the food and to watching two families become one.
I am so thankful for my dad, mom, grandparents, and Steve and Norma, and Toby, who came through to help me at the last minute when I needed it most, may God bless them! I had had 6 friends say that they could help at this wedding, and each and every one of them backed out just days beforehand, so I was left scrambling for help. I cannot begin to explain how much it meant to have them step up to help me.
It's amazing how God pulls people together! Tonight there was Leanne's family, David's family, and mine, and everything just felt right. As I get ready to head off to Peru with a few from the Wisner side, I can't help but feel as if I've gained some new family members! I love the feeling of being surrounded by others who love Christ more than anyone or anything else, and being apart of their lives is a blessing. Congratulations David and Leanne!!
Every time I get to interact with the Rodriguez kids, I am reminded that everything is going to be okay! Felicity has always been pretty shy around me, but tonight, she came up to me and crawled up onto my lap, and sat contently for quite some time. I was at peace knowing that she was at peace. And of course, sweet Doriana wanted to watch the fireworks with me, and ended up dragging me to the dance floor with her for a quick dance ;)
Later on in the night, I was bringing tablecloths into the house, and Albino asked if I would say goodnight to the kids. I walked over and Toby and Felicity come running out of the room and clung to my legs, followed by Doriana. Their total acceptance of me into the family warms my heart and makes this transition much easier. As Doriana said earlier, "You'll be spending Christmas with us! We will wake up super duper early and make crafts for my mom and dad!"
God is so good and I cannot wait to see what He uses me to do in Peru!
T minus 20 days!
