I am completely and totally exhausted, but so glad to have arrived safely! Our flight didn't end up taking off until around 11-11:30, and no sleep was to be had! I had some lovely airplane food around 12 (which didn't end up staying down). We landed in Lima, where we had to get our bags ourselves. I made it through immigration with no problems, praise God for that! Here, we had to get our bags ourselves and bring them through customs. No problems here either, because we're pretty sure the attendants didn't even look at the x-ray screen! We sat for a short time in Lima before our last flight here into Cusco!
The weather is so strange, the air is cold but the sun makes it hot. Traffic is NUTS and I definitely will not be driving myself or others anytime soon ;) We got to the house a little after 10:30, got bags inside, and started to settle in for a little while. I took my first shower, which wasn't as bad as I thought. Although, when the water gets hot, it gets HOT and it'll take me some time to figure out how to control that.
The Rodriguez's ordered some food, which was chicken and fries. There was a spicy sauce called Aji, which I really liked. Fast food here is WAY better than the US. After lunch, it was nap time, and I was so thankful for that. I crashed for a good two hours, which was what I needed.
After waking up, I played a few games with the kids, and then I went with Sandy to the panadería (bakery) for some bread for dinner. I can tell that I'm not used to the altitude quite yet, because that short uphill walk had me breathing heavily.
Eggs and bread were for dinner, and very shortly after, we got ready for bed. I had the chance to talk with my friends and family today, which I loved :) I'm not sure what tomorrow holds, but I'm excited!
